Vance VanDoren holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University where he developed practical applications of adaptive process control technology. His on-going research focuses on bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world control problems.

Dr. VanDoren also serves as a consulting editor for Control Engineering magazine and is editing a compendium of adaptive control techniques to be published in the fall of 2002.
