Biography - Dr. Robert L. Kosut
 
 

Dr. Kosut received a B.S. from the City College of New York in 1965 and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969.

He joined SC Solutions in October 1996, as Vice President of the Systems & Control Division. Prior to this, he was Director of the Research Department at Integrated Systems Inc. (ISI) and a Consulting Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of Stanford University. At both SC and ISI, he has been the Principal Investigator and Program Manager on many projects ranging from basic research to prototype and commercial development of control software tools (Matrix_X) and real-time controllers for semiconductor manufacturing systems and thin film deposition. His current research is on the control of quantum systems funded under the DARPA QuIST program (Quantum Information Science & Technology).

Dr. Kosut has contributed to fundamental research in adaptive control, and system identification for robust control. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, has served on a number of Award Committees, and is presently a representative to the IEEE Nanotechnology Council.
